The site publishes articles and analysis relating to housing complaints, service charges, repairs and governance issues affecting residents. It aims to publish accurately and on the basis of documents held. The following principles guide what is published.

Evidence-based reporting

Articles aim to rest on documentary evidence wherever possible: complaint correspondence, tribunal documents, emails, service charge summaries and other written records. Where a factual claim is made, the underlying source is normally identified or quoted.

Fact and opinion kept separate

Factual reporting and commentary are presented distinctly. Where an article expresses an opinion or draws a conclusion, it is offered as commentary based on the available evidence, not as established fact.

Attribution

Where allegations or claims are discussed, they are normally attributed to a documentary source or to a resident who has provided the information.

Quotation

Relevant passages from documents may be quoted so that readers can see the underlying evidence for themselves. Quotation is kept to what is needed to make the point; whole documents are not routinely reproduced.

Naming

Residents may be anonymised where appropriate. Staff of Peabody and its managing agents are generally referred to by job title rather than by personal name, except where a person's role in a matter is already a matter of public record and naming is necessary for accuracy.

Handling of submissions

Information provided by residents may be edited, verified or summarised before publication. The site does not publish material without review.

Independence

The site is independent of Peabody Trust. It is written from the resident's perspective and does not present itself as neutral, but it holds itself to a standard of documentary accuracy.
