The Peabody Complaints Archive is an independent website documenting complaints, disputes and resident experiences involving Peabody Trust and associated managing organisations. The name is used with a degree of irony: the site exists in part because residents have found the formal complaints process an inadequate route to accountability.
The purpose of the site is to document issues affecting residents of Peabody-managed buildings in a structured and evidence-led way. Articles may examine complaint correspondence, service charge disputes, repairs, tribunal and court proceedings, housing management practices, governance issues and related matters.
The site draws on primary documents, public records, correspondence, complaint decisions, court and tribunal material, service charge information and other relevant sources. Where a material point rests on a particular document or public source, that source is normally identified, linked or quoted so that readers can assess the basis of the reporting for themselves.
The site may also publish accounts provided by residents or other individuals with direct knowledge of the matters described. Where such material cannot be independently verified, it will normally be presented as an attributed account rather than as an established fact.
The site is written and run by leaseholders and residents, including members of residents' associations. It is independent of Peabody Trust and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Peabody Trust or any of its managing agents.
The site does not claim to be neutral or disinterested. It is a resident-led publication concerned with housing accountability and written from the perspective of people affected by the matters it covers. That perspective does not remove the obligation to distinguish documented fact, reported accounts, analysis and opinion, or to correct material inaccuracies when they are identified.
The intended audience includes residents of Peabody buildings, housing campaigners, journalists, housing researchers, policymakers and others interested in housing governance and accountability.
The site's objective is to create a durable public record of resident experiences and documented disputes and, where the available evidence supports it, to identify recurring issues or broader patterns through the careful presentation of sources, correspondence and timelines.
